Inconvenient Truth: Light Shaping Life

Young man open curtain in the morning

We have all grown up being conditioned to think that the sun is bad due to its link to skin cancer and that artificial lights are a technological gift that have improved our quality of life.

Not many people have stYoung man open curtain in the morningopped to question if this is true or if a lack of exposure to our sun throughout the day is impacting our health and leading us towards some of our current health issues. Nor have we questioned on mass if the artificial light in its various forms are harmful to our health, especially after dark, making them part of the underlying cause for many of the modern health issues we n
ow have to deal with.

What if the assumptions we have made long ago about sunlight and artificial light were not correct. This is where the inconvenient truth about what type of light we are exposed to can help or hinder our health and shape the conditions that we may become inflicted with.

There is a book by Roeland Van Wijk: Light is Shaping Life, where he goes heavily into the science behind the important role light plays in life. Without getting to deep it does impact every part and function of the body all the way down to how our cells and DNA  support us in expressing life.

This supports the old chiropractic saying by BJ Palmer, Nature needs no help, just no interference. Could the lower exposure to natural sunlight and a higher exposer to artificial light, especially after dark in our modern lifestyles be the interference to natures innate expression of optimal health?

This is now what we call circadian biology and it is a well researched field with clear implications to health. Get it right and you will innately express good health but get it wrong and this could be underpinning many symptoms, conditions and health issues that seem to befall us.

Over the next few weeks I will lay out 3 steps I can see in the science that can support building a strong and more resilient health profile. These steps align with natures rules to optimise how energy is built, transferred and utilised in the cells, tissues and organs of the body not just for sustaining life but to allow you to thrive.

If we can all shape the days and nights with these steps nature lays before us, robust and resilient health can be in our future.
