When it comes to improving health or overcoming a symptom, illness or injury many people first turn to eating better, adding a supplement or begin exercising. While these are all good and important things to do and they help improve many people’s health, you may be leaving one of the most beneficial things for improving health untouched. A healing mindset.

The healing mindset is often a persons unseen secret weapon when faced with health issues, illness or injury. One of the underlying principles to a healing mindset is that you have an innate ability to heal, provided you are in the correct environment often enough for long enough. Now your physical and nutritional environment is important but these are often superseded by a persons mental and emotional environment.

If a persons takes an “I’m already defeated” attitude towards their health recovery or a mindset of “it’s to big a mountain to climb” this may and often does erase many of the nutritional and exercise benefits they undertake.

This can be the first powerful step in modifying lifestyle choices and habits. Often people realise that they are rushing through their daily lives, never taking enough time to slow down to allow the mind and body the time to rest and recover. 

 

All healing takes time and a person does not get better in the same environment that got them sick.

One of they keys to activating a healing mindset is deliberately making time each day to slow down, rest and allow your brain and nervous system the time and space to disengage the survival, fight or flight response and re-engage its healing response.

You may just be amazed at how you begin to see your life when you repeat this daily. Some realisations about how modern life keeps us rushing from one thing to the next, leaving you utterly exhausted by the days end only to find you cannot sleep well each night and start your next busy day unrefreshed and struggling to keep up with the rush of the new day.

A healing mindset may also lead to you examining lifestyle choices. Choosing to take a moment for yourself, your health and wellbeing so you can turn up each day as the best version of yourself. A persons health affects everything they do and everyone they know.
